  2. On-Call Planning Services

Starting May 19, 2025, our planners are available for free appointments, Monday through Thursday from 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm. You can choose from phone, virtual, or in-person meetings, available in 15- or 30-minute timeslots.

Appointment Options

  • 15-Minute Phone Appointments: Ideal for quick questions about a property or project area that don’t require sharing documents or plans. A planning staff member will call you at the number you provide at your scheduled time.
  • 30-Minute Virtual Appointments: Perfect if you’re out of the area or unable to visit Town Hall. These meetings are held via Microsoft Teams. Once scheduled, we’ll email you the appointment link — be sure to check your spam or junk folder if you don’t see it.
  • 30-Minute In-Person Appointments: Great for discussing plans or documents face-to-face. These meetings take place at Town Hall, 10183 Truckee Airport Road. Please check in at the Community Development Department counter.

When to Book a 30-Minute Appointment

Use a 30-minute slot for the following: 

  • Assistance with an application submittal.
  • Building permit pre-review - if you want a quick check of your building permit for consistency with Planning standards.
  • High-level discussion of the planning process and standards. For detailed, written analysis, please use our preliminary application review process.
  • Guidance on navigating the planning process for a new business.
  • Pre-review of Zoning Verification application to qualify for concurrent Tenant Improvement building permit processing.
  • Survey waiver assistance.
  • Generator or A/C site plan review.

How to Book Your Appointment

  2. Schedule your meeting at least 2 business days in advance and up to 2 weeks ahead.
  3. If you have any plans or documents to review, please email them 48 hours before your appointment to PlanningDivision@townoftruckee.gov, referencing your meeting date and time.
  4. To change or cancel, use the link in your confirmation email.

Important Note: Afternoon meetings are designed to provide high-level guidance and information. For a more detailed analysis or in-depth project review, please use our preliminary application review process.

If you have a complex question that needs research, analysis, or specific/detailed feedback, please use our preliminary application review process. This process provides the applicant an opportunity to ask specific questions about the project and for Town staff to identify areas where a project may not comply with the Truckee Development Code and other policies that may influence the project and its design. It provides us the time to give thoughtful feedback based on research and analysis of the Town's regulatory documents.
