Disadvantaged Business Enterprise

The Town of Truckee receives federal financial assistance from the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) through the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) and as a condition of receiving this assistance, the Town has implemented a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program Plan.

The DBE Program Plan is based on the U.S. Department of Transportation, 49 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 26 requirements. The Town strongly encourages the participation of small and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises in its federally funded projects and this site is intended to provide assistance to such businesses. Information is also presented below for prime contractors about program requirements and identifying potential DBE subcontractors.

The procurement processes are designed to promote the incorporation of certified DBE businesses. To streamline the process of certification the State has formed the Unified Certification Program. Information on this program may be found at the California Unified Certification Program website.

DBE contractors can sign up for eNotification through the Town's website to be notified of projects that are out to bid. Be sure to select the appropriate boxes under "RFP Posts."
