On Wednesday, May 21, 2025, the Town of Truckee, in partnership with Tahoe Donner, hosted a Community Readiness Forum in recognition of Wildfire Awareness Month. Held at the Tahoe Donner Clubhouse and streamed live via Zoom, the event brought together residents, business owners, and community members to strengthen local wildfire preparedness and resilience.
The forum featured expert speakers from law enforcement, fire and emergency services, utility companies, and land management agencies, covering a wide range of critical topics including:
- The 2025 wildfire outlook for our region
- Local emergency response plans
- Wildfire mitigation strategies
- Utility providers’ emergency protocols
- Practical home and neighborhood preparedness steps
