The Town of Truckee, as a key partner in the Tahoe Truckee Homeless Advisory Committee, invites community members to participate in an upcoming community workshop on the draft Tahoe Truckee Regional Homeless Action Plan. This milestone represents 18 months of collaboration among 12 regional partners, including local jurisdictions, special districts, and nonprofits, working together to develop a strategic and sustainable approach to homelessness.
Community feedback is essential in shaping the final version of the Action Plan. The input gathered at this event will help ensure that the plan reflects local needs and priorities before it is finalized.
Grounded in data, insights from those with lived experience, and community input, the draft Tahoe Truckee Regional Homeless Action Plan emphasizes the importance of progress—no matter how incremental. It calls for collective action from local governments, organizations, businesses, and individuals to create meaningful support systems. The plan is guided by four key beliefs: regional collaboration is critical, compassion is central, housing solves homelessness, and doing nothing carries significant economic consequences.
