[ARCHIVED] Join the Downtown Railroad Crossing Study Committee!

Downtown Truckee from birds eye view with cars and the railroad.

The Town of Truckee is looking for community members to participate in the Community Review Committee for the Downtown Railroad Pedestrian/Bicycle Crossing Feasibility Study. This is a very exciting study that will evaluate the financial, technical, and political feasibility of planning, designing, and constructing a “mid-block” crossing of the Union Pacific Railroad Tracks in Downtown Truckee, roughly between the Depot to the east and McIver Crossing to the west.

As part of this study, the Town is establishing a Community Review Committee to provide input and feedback from a variety of stakeholders, including community members. While formal times and dates have not been set, it is anticipated that this Committee will meet in person in Truckee between 3-5 times with each meeting lasting 1-2 hours with the first meeting occurring in early February.

For more information about the project or questions related to the Community Review Committee responsibilities, please contact Alfred Knotts at 530-582-2489 or aknotts@townoftruckee.gov.  If interested in participating in the Committee, please provide a letter of interest addressed to Alfred Knotts by January 10th. Letters can be sent via the email listed above or by mailing to 10183 Truckee Ariport Road, Truckee, CA 96161.
