On the afternoon of April 29th, the Town of Truckee, Sierra Community House and Nevada County hosted a Día de los Niños, Children’s Day, celebration at the Truckee Library. This event was to celebrate all children within our community and was a collaborative effort to also promote literacy to all children for Book Day. Over a hundred people came to the celebration and Truckee Police and Tahoe Truckee COAD (Community Organizations Active in Disaster) staff joined the festivities. There was a bilingual book giveaway, face painting, pizza, and lots of community resources.
